Finkelstein, Burkle Battle For 'Variety'

Jimmy Finkelstein, chairman of Prometheus Global Media, and billionaire Ron Burkle are bidding for Variety, which Reed Business is sellling for an estimated $40 million, reports the New York Post. Finkelstein is the co-owner of The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard and Adweek. All three Finkelstein publications compete with Variety, started in 1905 in New York City.
