  • October 1, 2003
MarketWatch.com will launch Retirement Weekly, an online newsletter to be sold through the Company's flagship business news website, CBS MarketWatch. The first edition will appear Oct. 10. The third paid-subscription product to be launched by MarketWatch this year, Retirement Weekly will focus exclusively on financial issues of concern to baby boomers nearing retirement as well as those already in retirement. It will be edited by Robert Powell III, a noted personal finance journalist whose articles and analysis on retirement planning have been featured on CBS MarketWatch, The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times and other publications. "Seventy-seven million baby boomers are heading toward retirement, but changes to laws, regulations and investment practices are happening so fast that many of them are not able to keep up," said Powell. "Retirement Weekly will serve our readers by providing in-depth news and commentary on the latest developments, strategies and products to help them plan their future." The newsletter will explore all elements of retirement planning including investments, insurance, taxes, health care and estate planning. Features will cover subjects such as how to effectively save for retirement, how changes in Medicare will affect retirees, and how retirees can efficiently manage pension distributions and IRA rollovers and distributions.
