LA Times Classifieds For Sale Online

  • October 7, 2003
As a result of recent agreements between AdStar, Inc. and the Los Angeles Times, placing a classified ad in the print and online versions of the Times will soon be as easy as point and click. AdStar's e-commerce services will allow Times' advertisers that have typically placed and pre-paid for classified ads via phone, fax or in-person to now go online to www.latimes.com to create, schedule and pay for their ads. AdStar's Web-based classified ad transaction technology, which is the foundation for the online ad sales channels of many of the largest newspapers in the country, will now power the online ad transactions for the Times. AdStar will develop and host private-label classified ad transaction Web pages for LATimes.com, which will allow advertisers to create, schedule and pay for ads online for distribution in both the print and online versions of the newspaper. The online transaction solution creates a convenient, always-on sales channel for advertisers and expands the Times' reach to new advertisers and beyond traditional business hours.
