Horizon Steps Up to the Plate For Prostate Cancer

  • June 10, 2004
Horizon Media has teamed up with the Prostate Cancer Foundation (formerly CaPCURE) to launch a pro-bono PSA campaign that will support the ninth annual 'Home Run Challenge' and help promote prostate cancer awareness. The 'Home Run Challenge,' which brings together Major League Baseball, the Major League Baseball Players Association and other sponsors, raises funds for prostate cancer research by securing pledges for home runs hit during 60 select Major League Baseball games throughout the Father's Day week, June 11-20.

The campaign includes a National component that will air on Network TV, Cable TV and Network Radio. The media value for the campaign is estimated at $15 million. The PSA includes footage of Major League Baseball players and is narrated by John O'Hurley, aka Mr. Peterman of Seinfeld fame. Each Major League team has a Prostate Cancer Foundation player representative who endorses the 'Home Run Challenge' by involving themselves in a variety of different promotional activities surrounding the event.
