MarketWatch.com Attributes Big Revenue Boost to Ads, Licensing, and Subscriptions

A boost in ad dollars has contributed to a near doubling of MarketWatch.com's net revenues over quarter two 2003. According to the financial news source's quarter two's 2004 earnings report, its net revenues for the second quarter 2004 were $20.2 million, compared to $11.1 million for the same period last year. The revenue jump was attributed to higher ad revenues which totaled $8 million in quarter two 2004, up 48 percent from the second quarter 2003. Licensing and subscription revenues also rose.
