The 4A's and the ANA will assemble "a task force that will create a set of guidelines and best practices for shared responsibility" between agencies and advertisers for payment of settlements in
"patent troll" lawsuits, writes 4 A's President and CEO Nancy Hill. Agencies sometimes "shoulder the economic burden" in these suits, says Hill. "By our estimates, the cost for agencies to defend and
settle with patent trolls exceeds $10 million per annum."
