The University of Connecticut is no more. The university now wants to be known the way the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, or the University of California in Los Angeles are
known. So, henceforth it's UConn. That's part of the new branding strategy announced Thursday by the university's president, Susan Herbst, during her state-of-the university speech, calling it "one
primary visual word mark for the entire institution."
