Kathy Kayse, who has been publisher of People for two years, is taking a leave of absence from the company to attend to some personal family matters, hoping to return to the company in a new role early next year.
Kayse will be replaced by Paul Caine, who has been publisher of Entertainment Weekly for just 10 months since leaving Teen People. Caine began his Time Inc. career at People in 1989, and has previously logged two separate tenures at each title.
Caine will be inducted into the Advertising Hall of Achievement in November by the American Advertising Federation, which will present him with the Jack Avrett Volunteer Spirit Award for his considerable work in the community.
Tom Morrissy, Entertainment Weekly's associate publisher since 2001, will assume Caine's position. Morrissy began his career at Entertainment Weekly's in 1997. He previously worked in sales at Prevention and Parents magazines.
