The online edition of the
Wall Street Journal recently launched a new video content hub on its site, making eight to 10 streams of footage from CNBC available for downloading each day, said
Mike Henry, the online
Journal's director of sales, yesterday.
Sun Microsystems this Monday started sponsoring the segments, with a five-second introduction, saying "Wall Street Journal
Center is brought to you by Sun Microsystems." Sun will also run a 30-second re-purposed television ad after the news portion of the segment ends; the first ad, targeting senior executives, will be
for the Solaris 10 operating system. Sun will be the sole sponsor for the next three months, said Henry.
The streams will be available to non-subscribers as well as paying customers.
