Chili Pepper, which bills itself as the only magazine that chronicles the "zesty foods movement," will host the first NY Zesty Awards in New York on Monday. The event and awards ceremony will coincide
with the March/April issue on the best of metropolitan zest in Manhattan, Washington, D.C. and Las Vegas, as well as the magazine's tagline change from "cooking zesty" to "the zesty life."
Honorees at the reception will include TV personality Roshumba Williams, Meskerem Ethiopian Restaurant and Savory Sojourns culinary tours. The event will be sponsored by Patrón tequila and
feature cooking demos from the mag's executive chef Bill Wavrin.
"We're excited to honor the people and restaurants that make New York the zestiest city on the planet," said publisher Joel Gregory
in a press release. "Whether they are in front of the camera or at the stove, this diverse group of honorees spice up the city as much as they do their cuisine."
