ICQ, an instant messaging service from America Online, Inc., has launched ICQ Universe, a dynamic social networking service with global reach. Similar to Friendster, ICQ Universe is a next-generation
social networking service that enables Internet users worldwide to link-up with friends, family and colleagues, and access a dynamic view of the relationships between members. The service is available
by invitation only to Internet users everywhere and enables them to communicate with contacts old and new. Once invited to join ICQ Universe, new members can create their own part of the universe,
invite additional members to join and recruit new friends as they like. Members can also interact with other members through the service's unique user interface, which reveals the relationships among
ICQ Universe members.
