The Local now has offices in seven countries across Europe – employing 16 journalists across the network and attracting over four million unique
visitors a month – and is on the verge of opening its eighth office in Austria. "What happened early on is we realised that we didn't have any money," Rapacioli told Journalism.co.uk, "but if we
can get the global media writing about the stories that we're covering, and citing us, then that's the way to lift our profile."
