So, about that new distribution deal between Amazon and HBO. How much is Amazon coughing up to carry “The Sopranos,” “The Wire” and other popular HBO shows for three years?
North of $300 million, Re/Code reports, citing sources. “That’s a big sum for Amazon, but also very doable: The retailer generated sales of $75 billion last year, and is thought to be
spending at least $1 billion a year to build up its streaming video catalog.”
