Varilux Releases Boomer Demo Report

Of course they all need glasses. But eyewear manufacturer Varilux included other demographic data about the behavior of baby boomers in its recent demographic study. In an online survey of 1,000 of 40-54 year olds, Varilux found that 86% of boomers find it harder to feel good about their physical appearance as they age. However, most are not interested in changing their appearance, saying they have considered laser eye surgery, tummy tucks and facelifts but decided against them. Other survey findings say top health concerns include heart disease (74%), aging (72%) and reduced vision (68%). In their leisure time, boomers say they are spending more time surfing the Web, reading and staying home. When asked who the best role models are for the boomer generation, respondents cited President Bush, actor Tom Hanks and former New York major Rudolph Giuliani.
