In its largest-ever acquisition, Swedish firm Electrolux AB will buy GE's appliances unit for $3.3 billion in cash. The deal gives Electrolux the Hotpoint, Frigidaire and Zanussi
brands, with combined revenue of about $22.5 billion. That means Electrolux and Whirlpool will dominate the North American appliance market, with each company controlling about 40% of the U.S.
market.
