Consumers think traditional beer brands are appropriate for sports events or refreshment, but less recognizable alternatives are better for special occasions, per a study from the
University of Copenhagen and New Zealand Institute for Plant and Food Research. In the study, novel beers, or craft beers, were considered "self- indulgent" and appropriate for special events and
dining. The study polled 266 consumers from Aukland, so the results should be taken with a bit of kiwi salt.
