To Gain Traction In U.S., Ikea Is Planning 1,000 Housecalls

Ikea is getting into the social anthropology business. The company plans to make 1,000 house calls a year at customers’ homes, an effort to get back on track with consumer desires. Ikea will look at products they own, how kids play, and what problems people encounter when running their households. The point is to determine what different customers want in different markets and tailor the stores appropriately.
