Quicksilver Files For Bankruptcy, Sells Stores

So-Cal based surfer-style chain Quicksilver filed for bankruptcy last week, and will sell off retail assets. The Huntington Beach, Calif.-based company is closing 27 stores, including nine in California. It will hold going-out-of-business sales at the 27 locations through the end of the year. Quiksilver currently has 122 stores in the U.S., including 47 factory outlets.
