Whole Foods Market has announced that, by April, it will stop sourcing foods that are produced using prison labor. The company acted after facing demonstrations in Houston where it was
put on notice for employing inmates through prison-work programs. Michael Allen, founder of End Mass Incarceration Houston, which organized the protest, said Whole Foods was being exploitive.
