AOL's MapQuest To Send Maps, Directions, To Cellphones

  • January 5, 2005
America Online's MapQuest Wednesday introduced its new "send to phone" feature, which lets subscribers send color maps directly to their mobile phones. Part of the company's $4-per-month MapQuest Mobile service, it also lets users send driving instructions, an AOL spokesman said. MapQuest said its service is available on a number of compatible cell phones from major wireless carriers in the United States. Vindigo, a mobile applications developer, helped design the new application.
