Honey! Where's The Joystick, Er, Remote Control: Video Games Come To Broadcast

Last year, when the controversy arose over whether young men were disappearing as viewers of prime time television, one thing was certain: video games had captured this demographic to a considerable degree.

So in a kind of "if you can't beat 'em--beat 'em!" kind of ethos, AIM Tell-A-Vision has created "Play More TV," a syndicated weekly show that attempts to capitalize on the video game craze, which is set to debut on broadcast television this fall.

"Play More is our most exciting project to date and a natural extension of our current programming roster," said a statement from Robert Rose, CEO of AIM Tell-A-Vision. "The young demographics of the video game industry are very similar to the viewership base of our other programs. Gamer growth represents another exploding category under-served on broadcast television."

"Play More" will seek to incorporate a fast-paced, magazine-style format video game realm with a "live" virtual host. The show will feature gamer news and reviews, as well as in-depth, human-interest pieces on the people behind the scenes and the players themselves

AIM Tell-A-Vision Distribution will screen the program for stations at the annual NATPE convention to be held in Las Vegas later this month.
