Voter ID Laws Study: Minority, Liberal Turnout Suppressed

The results of a UC San Diego study on the impact of voter ID laws show they adversely affect minority, particularly Latino, turnout. Democratic turnout was also disproportionately affected. These outcomes bolster arguments that say voter ID laws are politically motivated, especially when it is clear that such laws have been mostly put forward by GOP lawmakers.
