A group of conservative billionaires are hoping to convince “Mag Dog,” General James Mattis, to run as a third-party candidate, should Donald Trump secure the Republican nomination in Cleveland. In 2012, a Marine Corps veteran started a campaign to write-in Mattis on presidential ballots. This time around, with the backing from wealthy conservatives, his bid may gather more steam in the hope of stopping Trump.
