Fandango, a leading online and telephone movie ticketing service, and IMDB.com, the largest movie information site, Wednesday announced a partnership to sell movie tickets on the Internet
Movie Database’s site. The service, launched in partnership with Tribune Media Services, a provider of entertainment listings to newspapers and Web sites, will allow IMDB to sell tickets up to
45 days in advance of a film’s opening. The ticketing will be hosted on the informational pages of any movie that is still in a theatrical release cycle. Fandango’s ticketing service
reaches more than 1,000 U.S. movie theaters--roughly 70 percent of all theaters enabled for online ticketing.
