Jupiter: Auto Industry Online Ad Spend To Jump 33 Percent

  • March 10, 2005
Elaborating on a report released last summer, Jupiter Research yesterday detailed the four ad categories it expects will hog most of the $16.1 billion it predicts will be spent on Web ads by 2009. According to Jupiter Research analyst Gary Stein, automotive online ad spending will grow 33.8 percent; health will grow 19.7 percent; travel, 18.3 percent; and the number of dollars spent pushing household goods will increase 15.1 percent. These four categories are likely to be the largest adopters of an array of online ad products, including advertising optimization, analytics, and targeting technologies. Agencies and publishers thus should seek out relationships with clients in those industries, Jupiter reported.
