A coalition of energy consumers and producers, labor organizations, and business trade groups has unveiled a new print advertising campaign emphasizing that more than eight of 10 Americans believe
passage of comprehensive energy legislation should be a "high priority" of Congress. The ads, citing recent findings from a national poll conducted by Wirthlin Worldwide, display campaign buttons that
read: "84% of Americans say ... Energy Bill: Don't Come Home Without It!" The group is led by Bruce Josten, executive vice president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on behalf of the more than 1,350
members of the Alliance for Energy & Economic Growth. Energy legislation passed the U.S. House of Representatives last year, and a different measure passed the U.S. Senate earlier this year. A
House-Senate conference committee is now attempting to resolve differences between the two bills.
