Google Upgrades Local Search

  • March 16, 2005
In another upgrade to its local search offering, Mountain View, Calif.-based Google added a new feature that allows business owners to create, change, or even hide their listings. After the changes are made, Google sends a login and password to the business by U.S. Postal mail to confirm the new information. Google's local competitors, A9, Yahoo!, and AOL Local Search, all already allow similar editing of a business's listing. --Shankar Gupta
