Former Time Inc. executive Reginald “Reg” K. Brack Jr. died on Oct. 4 at his home in Greenwich, Conn. He was 79.
Brack spent four decades at Time Inc. He was
the first person to run the company who had not gone to an Ivy League college.
He was also the first Time Inc. CEO who had not begun his career in journalism or finance, according to a New
York Times report.
Brack started his career at Time Inc. as an ad salesman at Time in 1962. By 1990, he had risen to the chief executive position. He was an
instrumental figure in leading Time Inc.’s transformation to a multimedia company.
Brack’s family told the
NYT that the cause of death was complications of progressive
supranuclear palsy, a brain disorder.
