A lawsuit by New Media Strategies, an online viral and buzz marketing company, against rival buzz marketing firm BuzzMetrics was dismissed in a Virginia court Tuesday.
The presiding judge,
Benjamin Kendrick, dismissed the suit following initial oral arguments by both parties. New Media Strategies said in a statement on Tuesday that it intended to refile the suit in a Washington, D.C.
court.
New Media Strategies filed suit in Virginia in November, alleging that BuzzMetrics approached the company about a possible deal, and during negotiations, acquired trade secrets
that it then appropriated for its own use.
