Ziff Davis Media Inc. today reported a total Q2 revenue drop of 37 %. Revenue was $47.6 million compared to $75.9 million in the same prior year period. The decrease was due to a 34.4% decline in
advertising pages, resulting primarily from discontinued publications and a weak technology ad market. In what the company calls its Developing Business Segment (Ziff Davis Development Inc. and Ziff
Davis Internet Inc.) revenue losses were $9.2 million and $(6.7) million for the quarter ended June 30, 2002 compared to $6.0 million and $(17.4) million, respectively, for the same prior year period.
The increase comes ad revenue in new publications, CIO Insight and Baseline, and from its Internet properties which were started-up in 2001.
