Hansen, who is currently chief operating officer and president at Business Insider, has been with the company for eight years. She is responsible for building the business side of Business Insider, forming its revenue model and business and technology operations.

Hansen previously worked as a senior vice president for NCAA.com and an executive director for Condé Nast.

Business Insider founder and CEO Henry Blodget announced Hansen’s departure in an email to employees on Tuesday. He said he is “not in a hurry” to find Hansen’s replacement and in the meantime will assume all of her responsibilities.

In his email, Blodget added that programmatic and native ads now account for more than half of Business Insider’s overall ad revenue.

Business Insider drew in 53.2 million unique visitors in October, up 29% compared to the same month last year, according to comScore data.

On Monday, Business Insider launched its Italian edition, its fifth international edition to launch this year, bringing the company’s total number of international editions to 12.
