Time Inc.’s business magazine
Fortuneannounced it is working with the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School to create online programs scheduled to launch this
fall.
They will be designed by UNC Executive Development department and taught by UNC Kenan-Flagler professors.
Fortune content will be used in course materials
for the programs. Topics and curriculums for the classes will be based on Fortune franchises and themes. Fortune will provide input on some material.
Most of the
content will be based on video interviews with Fortune 500 executives. The programs are available for both emerging and mid-level businesspeople.
The site dedicated to the offerings was created
in partnership with Fortune. Mid-level businesspeople are described as as “high-performing middle-to-senior management executives on track to becoming a general manager in their
organization.”

Emerging businesspeople are “professionals currently serving in an initial leadership role, or anticipating leadership responsibilities in the future," according to
the site.
“This is a unique opportunity to engage with business leaders in a new way,” stated Alan Murray, chief content officer of Time Inc. and president of
Fortune.
Douglas A. Shackelford, dean of UNC Kenan-Flagler, stated: “Through our partnership, we will offer a valuable blend of expertise and access for busy executives
who are eager to develop their business expertise and need the flexibility of online learning.”
Those that complete the programs will have the opportunity to earn certificates
from UNC Kenan-Flagler.
The first certificate program is called “Leading With Purpose.”
