Alpinist Magazine announced today that its premiere issue will debut at the end of November. Edited by former American Alpine Journal editor Christian Beckwith and published by Red Hat co-founder Marc
Ewing and based in Jackson Hole, WY, Alpinist will be a quarterly publication that celebrates the climbing life around the world. Features of the magazine include first-person accounts, photography
from the lenses of climbing photographers, and reportage on climbs from “the four corners of the globe.” The first issue will appear as a free mini-issue available at the August Outdoor Retailer
Summer Market. Alpinist will go on sale November 29, 2002 with a cover price of $12.95 and yearly subscriptions for $46.
