New Magazine Bows For Climbers

Alpinist Magazine announced today that its premiere issue will debut at the end of November. Edited by former American Alpine Journal editor Christian Beckwith and published by Red Hat co-founder Marc Ewing and based in Jackson Hole, WY, Alpinist will be a quarterly publication that celebrates the climbing life around the world. Features of the magazine include first-person accounts, photography from the lenses of climbing photographers, and reportage on climbs from “the four corners of the globe.” The first issue will appear as a free mini-issue available at the August Outdoor Retailer Summer Market. Alpinist will go on sale November 29, 2002 with a cover price of $12.95 and yearly subscriptions for $46.
