Initiative has won luggage maker Samsonite's estimated $30 million global media planning and buying. The business will be managed by the Interpublic Group media shop's Brussels office, and across 17
markets in Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, Canada, and the United States through four offices: Brussels, New York, Hong Kong, and India. European activity will be split between Initiative and
BrandConnection, which is part of the Initiative group.
Omnicom's OMD and WPP Group's Mediaedge:cia were among the contenders for the Samsonite business, sources said. -- D.K.
