'Texas Monthly,' 'Farm & Ranch' Team For Site

Beginning this month, readers of Farm & Ranch will notice an addition to their magazine: expanded editorial content sourced from new media partner Texas Monthly.

Texas Monthly, the leading media brand for the state, and Farm & Ranch, a magazine focused on ranch and rural properties with a print and online presence, have teamed up to launch a new website and shared editorial visions.

The website, completely rebuilt and just launched on Monday, offers new features, such as the ability for customers to load their own ads, track leads generated by the site, and communicate with potential customers. The titles expect a leap in traffic to the Farm & Ranch website through its link to Texas Monthly.

This month, two ranching-related Texas Monthly stories, “Landlords” by Lauren Smith Ford and “For Love of Country” by Sterry Butcher, are featured in Farm & Ranch.

Paul Hobby, Texas Monthly’s Chairman/CEO, stated of the partnership: “Texas represents a significant amount of the national ranch properties’ market,” noting that the combined editorial of Texas Monthly “can enhance the user experience and broaden [the] distribution online and in print,” for Farm & Ranch.

The partnership will allow Farm & Ranch to send its print publication directly into the homes of those most likely to be interested in high-end real estate, affluent households in the Houston, Dallas and San Antonio areas. Some 25,000 copies of the publication will accompany Texas Monthly to those Zip codes.

According to David Dunham, vice president of development for Texas Monthly and publisher of Farm & Ranch, the new allies will “use Texas Monthly editorial and subscriber distribution in their national edition of Farm & Ranch, a quarterly publication mailed to a national subscriber list and available on newsstands across the U.S.”
