Vanity Fair deputy editor
Stephanie Mehta is heading to Fast Company to take the reins as editor-in-chief, starting March 5.
Mehta made the announcement on Twitter Monday afternoon.
“I am overwhelmed by all the messages of support, and humbled to help steer this storied title,” she tweeted.
Mehta succeeds Bob Safian, who stepped down as
editor-in-chief and managing director of Fast Company at the end of last month, after a 12-year run at the Joe Mansueto-owned company. Fast Company covers business, tech and
design.
Safian has since founded media advisory firm Flux Group.
Prior to Vanity Fair, Mehta ran Bloomberg Media's events and conferences business. She was
formerly at Fortune for nearly 14 years and served as deputy managing editor at the magazine for a year, until 2014.
Manuseto Ventures also owns Inc. magazine.
