The New Yorker Intros Video 'Interview,' Calls Mueller Expectations 'Inflated'

The New Yorker magazine kicks off a new video series with a discussion between editor David Remnick and staff writer Masha Gessen probing President Donald Trump’s connections with Vladimir Putin and Russia.

The first installment in the series, aptly named “The New Yorker Interview,” reveals Gessen’s skepticism regarding the American media’s focus on the special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia in the 2016 election.

Gessen warns of “inflated expectations” regarding Mueller’s probe, noting: “If, in a magical future in which the whole picture’s laid out in front of us, I think it’s not going to be quite as definitive and quite as clear as we hope.”
