Sears is closing its last department store in Chicago this summer. The retailer has closed hundreds of stores over the last few years as it struggled with slowing sales as shopping trends changed.
Last year, the company said it would close nearly 200 stores by the end of 2017 in hopes of saving $1.25 billion a year. In January, Sears said it would close another 100 stores, including 64 Kmart
stores and 39 Sears stores.
