SendGrid, the email service provided that went public last year, generated $32.5 million in revenue for the first quarter, a 31% increase over the same period in 2017.
That included Email
API revenue of $25.9 million --- a boost of 30% over the prior year. The API business contributed 79% of total revenue.
Campaigns' revenue grew by 102% to $5.4 million.
The gross
margin was 73.9% -- flat compared with that of the same quarter in 2017.
Adjusted net income rose to $1.0 million, an increase of $1.0 million from Q1 in 2017.
SendGrid delivered total
email volume of 130.4 billion in the first quarter, up 29% from the same quarter last year. And it had 69,000 customers -- 35% more than last year at this time, by the end of the quarter.
