PowerInbox has sold DynamicMail, an email content enhancement service, to Optimove. The terms were not disclosed.
The proceeds from the sale will go into enhancing PowerInbox’s
services for publishers, according to Jeff Kupietzky, CEO of PowerInbox. Meanwhile, Optimove will have the capability to expand its ESP services.
All of DynamicMail’s ten employees will
move to the new owner, Kupietzky says.
DynamicMail is “not so much an email sending service,” but a platform for enhancing existing content in email, says Kupietzky. it’s
“probably similar to Movable Ink, but a lot smaller,” he continues, adding that the company is poised to “play a bigger game.”
"Emotional intelligence is a key element
in relationship marketing today, and PowerInbox's dynamic email technology offers great value to 300+ brands who use Optimove to communicate more effectively with their customers, and provide
outstanding customer experiences," states Pini Yakuel, CEO and co-founder of Optimove, of the new purchase.
PowerInBox -- a firm with an expected $30 million revenue run rate this year
after four years in business -- will focus on RevenueStripe, AdServer for Email and its other email monetization solutions, he adds.
With these tools, it will help publishers "monetize across
different sources of traffic," he continues. "It starts with emails — there’s a strong identity, and you have good sense of what users find relevant. But they might even engage through
chat or some other mechanism."
The company serves such clients as Time, Bonnier, Hearst, and Salem Web Network, but works for "anybody that has content that they might want to send through
other means. They might do push notifications, chatbots."
The Tel Aviv-based company has 35 employees, all of whom work remotely. They are positioned around the country, with a concentration
in New York.
