Companies Following The Population Into Cities

Population growth in urban areas is tracking alongside suburban growth for the first time in decades, spurring companies and retailers to follow. In Chicago alone, Walgreens now plans to relocate 1,300 jobs to The Old Post Office building in downtown, from its HQ in Deerfield, Ill; McDonald’s just opened its new HQ downtown after 47 years in Oak Brook,Ill.; and Google has its Chicago HQ in the West Loop.
