Image-conscious executives take note: business media publisher Factiva on Thursday announced a new service to monitor public opinion in all its various forms from radio and television to
consumer-generated content online. The new Factiva Insight Reputation Intelligence tool uses subject-matter experts from the recently formed Factiva Reputation Lab, along with text mining and
visualization tools. Graphical reports deliver data from Factiva's collection of 9,000 sources, including
The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones and Reuters newswires, more than 11,000 Web
sites, and more than four million blogs and message boards. These reports are indended to illustrate the market's perception of a company or organization, its brands, products, services, and
competitors. Factiva has partnered with online buzz-monitoring firm Intelliseek to provide monitoring of blogs and consumer generated media. Companies including Cymfony and Moreover also offer news
and blog listening services.
