Google got a head start, but MSN is quickly catching up in the satellite mapping wars, according to data released Friday by Nielsen//NetRatings. MSN Maps and Directions drew 1.2 million unique U.S.
at-home visitors the week ending July 31--the first full week its satellite mapping service was live. That figure represents a 175 percent increase from the 438,000 unique visitors for the week ending
July 24. Google Maps, meanwhile, drew approximately 2.52 million unique U.S. at-home visitors for each of the last two weeks in July.
