Eighty-seven percent of 1,107 U.S. employees surveyed by career publisher Vault, Inc. admit to surfing non-work-related Web sites while at work, the company announced Wednesday. The study, titled
"2005 Internet Use in the Workplace Survey," found that 53 percent of respondents admit to surfing personal Web sites every day, and 65 percent surveyed said that their recreational Web surfing in
fact increases their productivity, allowing them to take short breaks to "recharge their batteries."
