Amazon To Launch Grocery Stores Separate From Whole Foods

Amazon plans to open dozens of grocery stories with a lower price point than Whole Foods in several U.S. cities starting in Los Angeles, sources tell The Wall Street Journal.  The first could open as early as the end of the year. Leases have been signed, and two more locations are planned for early 2020. It’s unclear if the stores will carry the Amazon name. The online retailer is looking at San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia, the people familiar with the matter said.
