AI Use Challenges Privacy, Ethics

The companies building AI technology are aware of concerns over the rise of artificial intelligence. Journalists and others warn against biased, deceptive and malicious applications. But some, including Google and Microsoft, are creating corporate principles meant to ensure their systems are designed and deployed in an ethical way. Still, some people — and even companies — argue that the only way to ensure ethical practices is through government regulation.
