Gmail Reported Back Up After Global Problems

Gmail is running smoothly again after global service problems on Tuesday and Wednesday, but some users say their Microsoft Outlook is not working with the service.

“My gmail seems to be working fine; however its integration with outlook has failed since the past 2 days,” complains one user on downdetector. “No emails are getting downloaded on Outlook.”

“Orders not coming through to Gmail from my Woocomm website, not happy,”writes another.

On Wednesday, Google reported: "We're investigating reports of an issue with Gmail" in a service message. “We will provide more information shortly. The affected users are able to access Gmail, but are seeing error messages, high latency, and/or other unexpected behavior."

Service was most heavily disrupted in the Northeast U.S. and Japan, with lesser outages in Georgia, the UK and parts of  the Asia Pacific region, according to the downdetector map. Google Drive was also affected.

Users complained of being unable to log in and receive message and attachments.

UPI reports that Facebook users have also faced some issues.

On Wednesday, one Gmail user wrote: “Still getting: Address not found, when emailing to eastern USA usual addresses. This is the second day.”

“Unable to send emails, preview attachments, move emails from inbox to other folders and mark emails unread,” said another.
