Spike, a conversational email platform, has raised $5 million in a new funding round. Among the investors are Wix, a web development platform, Koa Labs, and NFX.

The money will go toward expanding Spike’s reach in the small business market, and to develop additional workplace collaboration tools, the company says. 

Spike provides a workplace collaboration tool featuring chat-like interface enhanced with voice and video calls It also includes group collaboration and integration with cloud-based file storage services, boosting inbox efficiency, the firm claims.

"The way people communicate is changing,” states Wix President and COO Nir Zohar. “Users demand more features that allow them to easily accomplish tasks while seamlessly collaborating with colleagues and clients.”
