Amazon and Walmart are participating in a pilot program with the U.S. Department of Agriculture for online grocery service for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participants in New
York. ShopRite is slated to be added to the program, which marks the first time that benefit recipients under SNAP, formerly known as food stamps, can shop and pay for food online.
