Visits to Nola.com, the Web site of the New Orleans daily newspaper,
The Times-Picayune, skyrocketed during the Hurricane Katrina disaster and relief efforts. Traffic peaked on Sept. 1, with
1,133 percent more visits than the site's average before the disaster struck.
The Times-Picayune--normally a local newspaper--gained national readership, with the majority of U.S. states
increasing their share of visits by at least 100 percent.
